Our district chose this as one of our professional book club selections. It was enjoyed by many because of the proteacher messages. Much of the information is commom sense or information teachers already know but it is written in a manner that makes us realize we need the reminders. The book is a quick and easy read.

As a middle school principal, I found this book to be very helpful for new teachers and veteran teachers alike. Whitaker's book is a great read!
The text is full of practical ideas that can be utilized by any teacher. The book focuses on a "people matter" principle, often forgotten by some authors. The author offers real ways to bring about significant and lasting change with public schools. I found the information to be practical and well-grounded in what it takes to effectively support good teachers as you move them to a higher, more effective professional level.
I recommend the book highly. After one copy, I think principals will want to buy more and more copies for their teachers.
GREAT BOOK!

I LOVED this CD! After hearing Todd Whitaker at a conference I bought everything that he had in print or audio. I was not disappointed in the purchases. His writing is clear and succinct. He uses humor to keep your attention and to make for an easy read. His writings are based on research and experience. I would recommend this book/CD to any educator, but ESPECIALLY novice teachers.
